Focusing on the terrestrial and marine plant and animal life in Cape Verde, the workshop started with a discussion about the current knowledge on the biodiversity of Macaronesia. From there followed the topic of microplastics and their presence in the region as well as marine spatial planning and the sustainable exploitation of biodiversity.
