Maria Buraimoh
Dr. Olanike Maria Buraimoh is a Lecturer and Researcher in the Department of Microbiology Faculty of Science, University of Lagos. She holds a Ph.D. certificate of the University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos Nigeria. Her research interest is focused on Environmental Microbiology and Biotechnology with special focus on bioremediation of polluted ecosystems and bioconversion of wastes to value-added products as a sustainable solution to climate change. She was a postdoctoral visiting researcher at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Karlsruhe Germany and a visiting scholar, Ohio Agricultural Research Development Centre (OARDC), Ohio State University, Ohio, USA. She was the Project/Event Manager, Science Ambassadors Foundation. Some awards to her credit includes: Faculty Best Researcher’s Award, Tertiary Education Trust Fund Research Grant, TWAS-DFG Cooperation visit grant award, International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) training grant, Central Research Committee and University of Lagos research grant award.
She participated in the inaugural workshop of the AIR Centre | Nigeria at National Space Research and Development Agency (NASDRA), Abuja Nigeria and was also part of Atlantic Interactions 5th High Level Industry, Science and Government Dialogue in Nigeria. An awardee and a secondee on Evidence Use in Environmental Policymaking in Nigeria (EUEPiN 2020) at the Federal Ministry of Environment, Lagos Zonal office in Nigeria. Some relevant certification includes: Entrepreneurship and Innovation Mentorship Education Certification (EIMAC), University of IOWA, USA; Technology Management, Research and Exchanges Board (IREX), USA, hosted by University of Lagos.
She is an Associate, Association of Massachusetts Institute of Technology Trained African University, Fellow, Institute of Policy Management Development (IPMD), Member, Society for Environmental Toxicology and Pollution Mitigation (SETPOM), Member, Institute of Public Analyst of Nigeria (IPAN); Outreach Member, American Society for Microbiology (ASM), USA and Member, Society for Applied Microbiology (SFAM), U.K among others. She has some publications and a patent to her credit.

Isa Elegbede
Isa Elegbede is affiliated with the Faculty of Environment and Natural Sciences, Brandenburg University of Technology (BTU), Germany as a doctoral researcher, with the research theme: sustainability certifications and marine resource innovations. He has a wealth of interdisciplinary background and various overseas experiences in the area of Fisheries, blue economy; bioeconomy; Sustainability standards and Certifications; Participatory and Policy studies; Indigenous and cultural studies; Data management to mention a few. Thanks to his resilience and hard-working attitudes- he obtained a BSc in Fisheries at the Lagos State University, Nigeria, MSc in Marine Sciences at the University of Lagos, Nigeria and MSc in Environmental and resource management at the Brandenburg University of Technology (BTU), Germany with several international professional training and certifications. He was a visiting fellow of the Ocean Frontier Institute (OFI) and the Robin Rigby Trust (RRT) at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Canada where he has contributed to teaching, research and capacity building activities within the university. He has committed to knowledge dissemination in Africa as a diaspora expert under the Centre for International Migration and Development (CIM), which is a joint initiative of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and the German Federal Employment Agency. Several awards, grants have been awarded to his credits. Isa has participated, contributed and volunteered in several international capacities and collaborative initiatives in many of the SGDs goals across the globe. He is an alumni of the graduate programs in oceanography at the Sao Paulo School of Advanced Sciences, Brazil.
