New free course on nature-based coastal restoration now available

The A-AAGORA project has launched a free online course, "Building Skills for Coastal Restoration with Nature and People", now available on the UNESCO/IOC OceanTeacher Global Academy platform.

Designed for students, practitioners, policy-makers, and early-career professionals, the course guides participants through the full process of developing Nature-based Solutions (NbS) for coastal restoration, covering everything from ecological and socio-economic contexts to stakeholder engagement through Living Labs, co-designing solutions, building sustainable business models, securing financing, and planning for up-scaling.

Drawing on experiences from A-AAGORA demonstrator sites in Norway, Ireland, and Portugal, the course combines practical insights, engaging activities, tools, and additional resources to support participants in applying their learning to real-world restoration challenges. It is self-paced, free of charge, and those who successfully complete it will receive a certificate.
